07:49 pm: too long

Wow! It has been very long since I last posted.  I a SAHM now.  I was setting up a family site and describing myself recently.   I never thought I'd start out: I'm a stay at home mom and my son is now 7 months old.  As Ferris said, "Life moves pretty fast.  If you don't stop and look  stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it. "

Well, I'm looking around now.  Alexander is growing very fast.  He chases the cats (crawling) and I chase him.  He has his own sense of humour, laughing and playing.  He loves to climb everything from his mommy to the stairs.  He wants to walk so much, pulling up on everything.  He has almost 5 teeth now and is eating a variety of cereal, fruits, and veggies (all pureed of course).

Life is sweet.  It goes by so fast though.  I thought after 7 months or so of being home, my home would be very organized and tidy (finally).  It's not.  Oh well.  I look forward to many adventures this summer as it's now getting so nice outside.

08:51 pm: Well it's my 20th week. Half way there! I feel really great and HUNGRY. My back has been bothering me a bit from the extra weight in front--so far I've gained 9 pounds. I try to get in my exercises and stretching to off set that though. I want to shop for baby stuff but need to hold out a bit longer until it can be budgeted and I don't go hog wild. Gosh, there are so many cute things and accessories. I love all the little gadgets and could easily get caught up buying tons.

Sleep has been a little elusive at times since I'm trying to cope with a body pillow and changing positions. I find though that it is deeper and I've had so many crazy dreams lately. I'm surprised none have been about food!

Work is the same, still a bit boring but some might say, relaxed. Getting a lot done around the house while I still can. It's been so beautiful here with no heat and humidity yet so I've been trying to get the gardens ready as well. I cleaned out the gazebo and would like to get some electricity out to it this year so I can do some scrapbooking and stuff in the evenings. I can't remember ever having such a lovely Spring. Inside, I'm doing some reorganizing and cleaning as well. I feel like now is the time, while I have the time. Who knows what the later months of summer will bring?

The family is well and I've recently caught up with a few old friends. Life is good.

05:35 pm: Found another song that I really like. Now it's stuck in my head but not like THE song. I love that one. So, I plugged my headphones in for awhile at work today and got a lot done. So what if I couldn't hear my phone ringing off the hook? hehe. Gotta love itunes.

Ok, it didn't reach 106 like they said. It was more like the HEAT index. I really should listen more carefully to the news professionals [/sarcasm].

Ankle feels about normal so DDR/Maya tonight. Too hot to be outside--was outside for 3 hours last night anyway weeding/trimming/pruning. Hosed myself down and cooled off with popcorn for dinner and FC. It was really good the 2nd time around :) Funny yet dark.

Taking tomorrow off. I decided late this morning. I already changed my voice mail :) Vacation day! Yahoo! hehe.

01:46 pm: On Memorial Day
Memorial Day. A day of reflection and contemplation for many.
I have reflected much lately. Frankly, I am tired of it yet I feel compelled to honor today. Usually we celebrate with friends and family and talk about the old days. Uncle Bruce is usually here from Kansas to talk about WWII and the boys.

When the national athem comes on I always get teary eyed. Don't get me wrong, I would never ever cry in front of people. But that song and what it stands for just gets to me. Not even the words anymore but all of the memories associated with hearing it played, I think.

I think of all of the people who have worked and sacrificed to make this country independant and I am overcome with a feeling of gratefulness. Here I am born into this great country. Great courage from the time of the pilgrims to the blood shed which nearly tore our country in two. The principles and causes were great. In the end, it all came down to protecting liberties. The same liberties that are our foundation.

I get emotional about this because I know how good we have it here. I am not saying I don't ever disagree with how this country is run. I do. I also have deep feelings about what is right and wrong and how my core values match up to our nations'.

When all is said and done though, it is our people. Our strength and determination, and courage that has brought us to the America we have today. I am very proud to be an American.

06:00 pm: Unhinged Job Rant
Today I nearly came unhinged by my coworker's. One of our store's POS's went down--hard drive failure. I have a spare but I had to put all the junk on it first. Well I forgot the Credit Card software so it was no good.
I got the new drive in--it's like cake now. Plugged the ext CDRW into the hub and voila--the damn thing crashed. Oh yeah, this is the POS that hates all ext. drives. Bastard. So, I have this great jump drive but it only has the menu on it and so I go back to the office and copy the CC stuff onto the Flash Drive and give it to Cheryl to take to the store.

I get a call 1/2 hour later and another store is down. Oh, did they tell me they had problems last week? No. Well the tech team has dialed into the store so fuck'em. He can deal with it. Some corrupted files or something.

Phone calls...someone cut themselves, someone wants their 401k stuff, someone wants a raise. Some lady was fired for stealing (on camera) but says it was a tip. I'll give her an f-ing tip...find a new job!

Ok, on to the next item---interview and testing with a management applicant. She doesn't show. Reliable? Hmmm...damn I though she interviewed well too. Oh well.

So and so is fighting with so and so at one store. At another one woman's husband came in and told (her friend) another employee that she was a drunken whore. Great more employee relations.

More phone calls...

Trying to finish this employee appreciation program to present to managers next week. So how do I cope?

I post at Mike's and update my journal...hehe. Ok well I better finish up--work that is.
